Turopolje pig is an authentic breed from Croatia, Turopolje, and one of the oldest breeds in Europe. It is highly valued in Austria and Germany, because it can live under free range conditions - this are its normal living conditions. Of course breeds that move in nature also taste better than breeds kept in mass-production.
It is a highly endangered breed, and in Kaikavian region you can find it in Lukavec, Turopolje Lug, and Lonjsko Polje.
