ivančica transversal is a competetion on the ridge of Ivančica, a mountain in Kaikavian region in North Croatia. The start is in Golubovec which is also reachable by train from Varaždin, and finish is in Podevčevo (also close to train station direction Varaždin).
If you are in good condition and have been training for it,, we do recommmend this competition to you. You can find the details and maps on the link above.

The length of the trail is 38km, but even if you do not compete, you can do it in few phases.
We recommend:

1. Golubovec - Lepoglava : from Golubovec on the transversal path go to the  control point #2, from there we descend to city of Lepoglava and do sightseeing, getting to know its reach cultural heritage and coulinaric specialties specijalitetima.
   Length: about 10 km. In Lepoglava there is a train station direction Varaždin,
2. Golubovec - Mounatin hut at the top of Ivanščica - Ivanec - For those who already know Lepoglave or want to trek even further. 1st part is the same as above, but we continuew to the Mountain hut Pasariö at the top of the mounatin. Short break, and from there we descend to Ivanec. In Ivanec there is train station direction Varaždin.
3. Podevčevo - Bela - Mađarevo: You can reach Podevčevo (or Mađarevo from the other side of Ivančica)  by train, from Podevčevo we go to Bela castle, and ascend over Ivanščica, visiting a ruined castle Grebengrad, then continue to descend to Mađarevo. Around Mađarevo we are acompanied by authentic cottages houses, which are sadly dissapearing. This way goes only partly on the ridge of Ivančica. You can do it in 1 day.
