Dishes  to old recipes of Kaikavian nobility

Stari Puntijar (meaning would be something like The Old Rebel) is real authentic Kaikavian restaurant and hotel. It is located in Zagreb, where first hills of Medvednica start. It was a tavern in 1838, and now they are preserving the richness of Kaikavian culinary heritage in books and more important - in real dishes they prepare!
So the real interesting thing about Stari Puntijar are dishes prepared "in the old way", according to old Kaikavian recepies like these of Zrinski and Erdödy nobility.

  • Chicken with sauce made of parsley root - according to recipe of count Mikula Zrinski from 16th. century

  • Veal ragout soup - according to recipe in 1st. printed cookbook in Kaikavian language from 1813.
