St. Martin's day celebration is along with St. Vincent's celebration the traditional celebration in Kaikavian region. It is traditionaly the day when must becoms wine, and gets baptised.
St. Martin was a saint who was born in 4th. century close to the what was to become Kaikavian region in futurein Sombatel, Sombatel, today in Hungary, so the Via Sancti Martina goes also through Kaikavian region (Sv. Martin na Muri and Dugo Selo).
There are churches and chapels dedicated to St. Martin across the Kaikavian region: St. Martin na Muri in Medjimurje, in Podravina church of St. Martin in Virje, Martin-Breg and medieveal church of St. Martin over Dugo Selo in Prigorje, Martinec in Zagorje and church of St. Martina in Bojačno, to name only a few.
