Close to city of Krapina, where also the Neanderthal Museum is located, in village Donje Jesenje you can trek on the trails where Neanderthals once walked and hunted .
On the trail there are 6 main spots marked with big tables, and you can use the audio-visual guide.
Start is at the Community House of Donje Jesenje as marked on the map.
There is strong evidence that Neanderthals used these trails as they lived here and used the surrounding stones for tool-makind.
There are 2 main Neanderthal spots In Kaikaviana, the one at Krapina and Vindija cave - both proved exceptionally important for scientific research on Neanderthals.

Site around Krapina is unique since it preserved the caves & trails used by Neanderthals as opposed to Neanderthal in Germany, where the environment has been destroyed during industrial development.
