The best trail during summer to the peak of Ivanščica starts on the northern side on parking-place at Žgano vina, after the Prigorec village. Žgano vino is Kaikavian for distilled vine, bu don't expect to find it there. Instead, a fresh mountain creek will greet you. It flows along and over the lower part of the trek, bringing the freshness of the mountain to you and to the forest. Afterwards starts a bit steeper ascent to the water spring Mrzljak. Take a rest there and taste the great fresh water, fill the bottle. Then continue to the zletišče coprnic, a place where Coprnice - Kaikavian from German Zauberinen - witches meet at the crossroads of many paths. We take left just next to macadam street, until we get out on the street, from there we need 10 minutes to the peak.

At the peak there is a great view and a little disappointement with the coulinaric supply. There is only stuff like bean soup and sausages, not worthy of the highest peak of Kaikavian region. In the times when other mountain huts have different specialties (like the one on Japetič and Goričica over Zagreb), this one is stuck deep in the 70ies. We dont expect finest dining, but Kaikavian specialy štrukle would be enough. Nothing like that. Coffee is good, and the juice too. You can enjoy the nature, the stunning view over Zagorje and great water from Mrzljak.
You can get štruklji in the reastaurant called BVB, located between Prigorec i Ivanec. At least something. Still both places need to move. Peak of Ivanščica and its ascent are popular among the trekking population, but there is practically no authentic food on the way.

You can reach Prigorec and the starting point by car. Bike is possibel also, but the roads are really narrow and you have to be careful.
