The Nights of Dragutin Domjanić is a traditional cultural manifestation held in Adamovec, a village next to Zagreb.
Dragutin Domjanič was a city judge, member of Academy of Sciences, president of Matica hrvatska association, and Kaikavian poet!
He has chosen to write in his mother tonque - Kaikavian, although at that time, beginning of 20th century, Neostokavian was already the official language in Croatia. Dragutin Domjanić belongs to the 2nd, modern phase of Kaikavian literary language.

Sights worth seeing in Adamovec
- The old city Kozelin - the old "pagan" city Kozelin is just above Moravče, 10 minutes auto drive from Adamovec, east Medvednica. It gives you fantastic views to both Prigorje and Zagorje. Below there is the road following the thousand years old route that connected South with North. On the Zagorye side the road gets winding and steep, almost like on Himalaya. However, with little attention and slower driving you can easily manage it.
- FOOD & Drinks Traditional manor house and restaurant Kurija Žunec in Jesenevec offers you in natural ambient traditional rooms and traditional Kaikavian specialties like:
- Trgance s pečenim vrhnjem
- Kuhane i zapečene štrukle
- Lungiće 'z orehi
- Patku z mlincima, Hajdinsku kašu s vrganjima...
- In Adamovec there is the famous Aquapark Adamovec, a modern wellness centre with outdoor and indoor swimming pools
- And old water-mill from 19th century is being renovated, we hope it will function soon! We included pictures of it in the gallery.
