Lovrec wineyard estate is located between the hills of Sv. Urban, and belongs to Štrigova, a city known already in Roman times as Stridon.

Here in North Croatia, in Upper Medjimurje area, which is also the most northern part of Kaikavian cultural region, it seems as if the rich history and tradition of Kaikavian region are concentrated and reflected in the Lovrec family estate.
On a beautiful hill you will be heartily welcomed by your hosts, by an authentic Kaikavian wooden house, by two plane-trees that watch over a wine cellar from 16th century and by and old villa. The whole estate is telling you a romantic story about a tradition, which sometimes was broken, bug repaired again. Here up on the hill, below plane trees that sing their romantic song, or on the terrace with a view you will feel like in an another country from fairy tales
We recommend to experience the sunset with a glass of one's Lovrec's modern wines. We especially liked the Green Silvaner and a Knights's black - Cabernet Sauvignon & Syrah. Fine local delicacies are accompanying the wine degustation, in a wooden house adapted with a style and knowledge, where one feels good, and doesn't know should s/he go out to enjoy the romantic nature around, or should s/he stay inside enjoying in the interior of a living ethno-museum.

The Lovrec's are just renovating an old cottage/villa where where the selected ethnologic collection will take its place.
If you don't get to them, there is possibility to have delivered fine vines in Čakovec, Prelog, Varaždin and Zagreb.

If you visit the Upper Medjimurje or nearby Varaždin, and there are many occasions - Spa & Sport Resort Sv. Martin, St. Vincent's gathering & trek, St. Urbans's day, Spancirfest in Varaždin - you just need to get out on a hill with a view and fresh air to enjoy a degustation of Lovrec wines. A visit to Sv. Urban should is something special on your trip - walk and explore the romantic hills and heritage of this magic region.
They speak English, German, Croatian & Slovenian. And also Kaikavian of Medjimurje dialect, the authentic language of this region. Just check over the phone or mail if they are at home.
