Fine dining in Shamper

Restaurant Shamper in the centre of Čakovec finally brought some fresh life into the old Zrinski castle. They serve finest dishes, there is also traditional food redefined, e.g. pastry like great međimorska gibanica, or icecream with pumpkin-seed oil. A traditional specialty they serve is žganica - Kaikavian variant of a brandy.

They make their own champagne, which they serve also in combination with small dishes - they have a some very interesting and inspired combinations.  
We recommend their cream of horseradish and celery soup with crispy bacon, as well as fish soup with safron and shrimp tempura. Or a steak of pork chops with onions for 50 kn. For big hunger noble roast with buckwheat porridge. Between these two dishes there is a whole spectrum of lighter or smaller dishes that you can choose.

Of course they also have the best dessert and cakes in the city - finally a place to try finest dessert in Čakovec, something which was really missing.
Together with the ambience it reminds us of the finest restaurants in Vienna.
